Commission for Human Rights and Good Governance

Mandate

The Commission was established on 1 July 2001. The Commission was officially inaugurated in March 2002 following the appointment of Commissioners by the President. The mandate focuses on human rights and anti-corruption.


Function

The functions of the Commissions includes monitoring, visiting places of detention, issuing public statements, investigation of complaints, amicus curiae in legal proceedings, initiation of public inquiries / investigation, and education and training programmes.
