The Governments of Kenya and the United Kingdom in partnership with the International Disability Alliance are hosting the Global Disability Summit 2018 in London on the 24th July 2018. The purpose of the Summit is to galvanise a movement of change to protect and promote the rights, freedoms, dignity and inclusion for all persons with disabilities. 

The Summit will address issues around: 

  • Tackling Stigma and discrimination;
  • inclusive education;
  • routes to economic empowerment; and 
  • technology and innovation.

Representatives of NGOs, National Human Rights Organisations, Governments and civil societies from around the world will be attending, including representatives from the Commonwealth Forum.

The Charter for Change invites signatories to register their commitment to ensuring the rights of persons with disabilities through the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and delivery of the Sustainable Development Goals for persons with disabilities.
