The Commission was enshrined by Article 218(g) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana and Section 7(1) (h) of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice Act 1993 (Act 456). The Mandate of the Commission is to work on human rights, anti-corruption and administrative justice.


Functions

To investigate complaints of violations of fundamental rights and freedoms, corruption, abuse of power, functioning of public institutions, practices by persons and private enterprises, allegations of corruption, enforcing code of conduct for public officials. Educate the public on human rights.
